Am I the only one who noticed Nikes at every corner of the street? It was an ongoing trend. Nike air maxes, roshe runs, free runs, … I didn’t want to be mainstream and bought myself some Adidas sneakers. But those are more fall/autumn shoes. As for summer, I will need something totally different. Even though I love sneakers to death and still would be wearing them. Anyway, I wil show you some summer shoes of which I think will be been so much the next few months.
What you will see are heels, flats, platforms and heels with an ankle strap. Not necessarily the same one as in the picture. But al kinds of ankle straps. E.g. leather, plastic, metal straps (kind of like bracelets), …
In this case notable doesn’t mean weird, geometric figures. But rather striking colors and patterns. Low sneakers or high sneakers, as long as they stand out. Imagine bright yellow shoes for example. Wouldn’t that be so cool. Rita Ora designed a few times for Adidas. I have her shoes with the rainbow sole. But she also designed a pair with a flower pattern. I have a feeling those and similar pairs will be seen so much in spring and summer.
I guess you have seen these sandals. Last summer they were everywhere, but the color everyone had was white. I think these sandals will come back again. But you know what I’ve seen so much lately? Platform heels, sneakers, boots, …. I love the look of platforms as long as they are not too high and I find most of them uncomfortable. But that’s my opinion.
I love the bohemian touch of these kind of shoes. I personally prefer the camel color with the length right below the knees. I also love the ones that are a few centimeters above the ankles, just like in the picture. As long as they are flat.
The thing that will also be seen more than usual are patterns or prints. More specific animal prints. For example snake, crocodile and leopard patterns. I’ve chosen two pictures this time. Two pairs of which I think they are lovely.
These actually come back every year. And no, I am not talking about UGG’s or moonboots. I am talking about ankle boots, regular boots and overknees. I guess everybody can pull off the regular boots, but ankle boots and overknees are a little more difficult. I don’t wear any of them at all. Just because I find them annoying. But I really like to see a nice outfit combined with boots. Compliments to everyone who can pull them off!
OMG! I am in love with these green wedges. I am more a sneakers girl or I prefer flat shoes in general. But these … They just stole my heart. The funny thing about this pair is that they can actually be in most of the categories I wrote in this post. They are notable, have a platform and an ankle strap. They are really perfect on a hot summer’s day with my favorite dress.
I am not talking about the regular flip flops. But you know, sandals that have that little strap between your big toe and the toe next to it.
You should check out Kenzo and Stella McCartney. They have designes a few thong sandals. But they are more fashion show material. I wouldn’t wear them because they are extravagant.
Pointy toe flats
Ok, so, to end the article, I want to point out (
hah, stupid word joke) my favorite summer accessory. Flat shoes. I don’t now why we call these specific shoes (no matter if the toe cap is round or pointy) ‘ballerinas’ in Dutch . But anyway. I once had a pair that looked really similar to ‘pointes’ (the shoes that ballerinas wear). I always tried to stand on my toes, not knowing that it was very bad. Luckily a friend who did ballet told me that it was really bad and that not even every ballerina was allowed to dance on pointes because some of them weren’t capable. From that day I never pretended those flats to be pointes.
Thank you for reading! I love you :)
